Retatrutide: read the phase 3 paper, not just the headline
TRIUMPH-1 adds randomized evidence; the analysis method still matters.
What was published
The September 2026 TRIUMPH-1 paper reports a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial involving 2,339 adults with obesity without diabetes. At 80 weeks, mean body-weight change was −23.7% in the 9-mg group and −25.0% in the 12-mg group, compared with −3.9% with placebo. These are trial arms, not instructions for use. Gastrointestinal events were the most common adverse events. Eli Lilly funded the trial.
Why the denominator matters
The paper uses a treatment-regimen estimand for weight outcomes, addressing intercurrent events within an intention-to-treat framework. Its knee osteoarthritis and sleep-apnea analyses use a different, hybrid estimand and also report intention-to-treat results. Those definitions belong beside any numerical comparison. The corresponding registration is NCT05929066, sponsored by Eli Lilly.
Research is not regulatory authorization
FDA states that retatrutide is not a component of an FDA-approved drug and cannot be used in compounding under US federal law. A positive study should not be presented as permission to purchase an online research product.

Editorial approach
We will track regulatory decisions and further safety reporting separately from efficacy papers. We will not rank candidates using unadjusted weight-loss percentages from unrelated trials.
Educational reporting only. Trial findings do not constitute medical advice or regulatory authorization. Company disclosures are interested-party sources; this is not an investment recommendation. Send corrections to hello@peptidecheat.com.
